HOW THE VIRTUAL CFO GROUP BEGAN
The 3S CFO Group was established in early 2013 with a team of consulting CFOs with many years of experience working as CFOs with small and medium sized businesses from $0.5m to more than $150m turnover. Founder, Colin Wright, saw the emerging Virtual CFO industry as a huge opportunity to deliver significant value to a range of small and medium-sized businesses. Technological advances in cloud based management systems and a move away from trying to fill “lumpy” jobs with direct employees is driving this new industry. In 2019, the 3S CFO Group became The Virtual CFO Group Australia, serving businesses with virtual CFO services, CFO consulting, and related services.

MEET THE EXECUTIVE TEAM LEADERS

Colin Wright CPA
Virtual CFO
Colin is an experienced accountant with 25 years’ experience in financial management of SME businesses. He has held shareholdings and Directorships in a number of these businesses.
Colin established the 3S CFO Group, and later The Virtual CFO Group Australia, to assist SME business owners to better manage their performance and achieve their financial goals. After many years working closely with banking partners and investors, he has a clear understanding of the financial needs of businesses and investors.

Robin Snelling CA
Virtual CFO
Robin has held senior financial management roles for over 25 years. He was CFO for Leader Newspapers, a subsidiary of News Corporation, for much of this time, during a period of considerable change in the newspaper industry.
For the past 5 years, Robin has worked with SME clients from a variety of industries, including trades and services, manufacturing, wholesale and professional services. The financial reporting introduced to his clients bring clarity on how products/markets/services are performing and where owners should focus their efforts to get the best return.

Graeme Wright
Systems Developer
Graeme has over 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, 18 of which were with IBM where he was the development lead for numerous collaboration and workflow applications. He holds several Lotus Notes development accreditations.
For more than two years, Graeme has taken on the challenge of data mining, analysis and reporting for the SME sector.

Karen Rafferty
Senior Bookkeeper
Karen commenced her career as an industrial engineer with Australia Post. She then successfully built a business with her husband taking the business from start up to around 50 employees over an 8 year period. Karen managed the financial affairs of the business while her husband was responsible for the operational side of the business.
Karen is a key member of the Virtual CFO team and her experience and knowledge adds significant strength to the service levels offered by the group.
